Abstract
The distribution of C3 and Bf phenotypes was studied in a North Indian sample and gene frequencies were compared with various populations reported from India. There appears remarkable inter and intra regional variations of C3frequencies in india. The possible role of nature selection in producing distinct differences in frequencies of C3 and Bf among different racial groups in the world is discussed.
